How have the rights and freedoms of Aboriginal people in Australia changed during the post-war period?

I think the fact is that they are free. I mean if we hadn't have gone to war then these other countries would have taken over and god knows what they would have done to them.

I know that since that time they have been allowed to vote. This may not have anything to do with post war but I think it is because of the way Australia changed after the war.

The system also works for them. We may have disadvantaged them in some ways with our white culture but we have also bought a lot to them. I think that they sometimes have it better than use whites. I know I earn a hell of a lot less working than I would if I were on their payments.

I think also that there has been a change to their land rights. Back before the war there would have been no land rights as there are now. It's an acknowledgement of their culture I guess.

They really havent changed at all. I am a Maori from New Zealand and we all know that Australia is one of the most racist in the world towards their indigenous counterparts.
