You can fix it yourself and save that money!
its actually located on the driver's compartment, some mechanics call it a sphincter valve. It's necessary to use a left handed metric Phillips screw driver to remove the cover and check the fluid...there isn't a dipstick so you have to use your finger...when you pull you finger out and there is anything on it, you'll need to get a bucket of steam and dump it in there to clean it. put the cover back on and you'll be OK.....GOOD LUCK....if you have any other questions please feel free to ask...

Screwball did have an answer that was a hoot. I'll even type it this time. Rolling on the floor laughing my a** off. I'll agree with Daniel P., though. It's definitely made up, so if your mech has charged you for a kanooter valve, sue the wrenches out of his hands. He doesn't deserve them anyway. Probably works for Poop Boys!! Good Luck.

A bad kanooter valve can be caused by only 2 things. Either there is blockage somewhere in the filopeein tube, or there is a short between the steering wheel and the driver's seat.

its made up -like blinker fluid or muffler bearings or spark plugs for a diesel motor-none of these are real just a fun way to poke fun at people who dont know anything about cars at all-i really hope the mechanic was screwing with ya and not actually goin to charge you for that-you could sue him if he does-hope this helps

You don't say what kind of car you have, but the kanooter is usually located next to the bull gear.

You might want to get it fixed as soon as possible before it completely ruins your flex capacitor!
