Lodhi Road is named after
Ibrahim Lodhi, a Lodhi Dynasty
Emperor.
His Tomb is located in New Delhi.
It is opposite the old Safdarjung
Air Port/Safdarjung Tomb.
The Tomb is a protected monument,
and has a beautiful garden around
it, spread over several acres of land.
Holidayers and picnic-ers visit this
place for fun.
A road emerging from the Lodhi
Tomb leading towards the Government
colony, towards south is called
Lodhi Road. There is a residential
colony as well, called Lodhi
Colony, where there are Government
Quarters, for Central Government
officers. The Colony is very nice
and peaceful.
A huge complex of Government
offices are also relocated there,
which are known as CGO Complex,
LR Complex (Lodhi Road Complex).
There are huge buildings of some of
famous religious/spiritual organisations
and Industry Chamber associations.
Besides, there are some International
organisations' offices and cultural
organisations are also located there.
Famous Government offices include:
R & AW, Ministry of Environment,
CRPF Head Quarters, CBI,
Metrology Office, SAI etc
Jawahar lal Stadium, the biggest
sports stadium of Delhi is also located
there, which was made for the
1982 ASIAN GAMES, as a principal
venue. It can accomodate 100000
viewers and can host day/night events
as well. It has four huge lighting towers,
and it is supposed to be the largest
in the country, even now.

Lodhi rd is widely seeing near & between Safdarjung Tomb, Race Course, PMO, Nizamuddin,s Dargah, Dayal Singh College, Khan Mkt, CGO Complex, J.L.Nehru Stadium & widely between Purana Quila, Zoo, AIIMS.
It streches from Safdarjung tomb (Aurbindo marg) to Nizamuddin Police Station Circle (Mathura Rd.).
