Maybe he swallowed too much tobacco juice. If we could run the liberals out of the democratic party, we might be able to come up with the right people to run this country. Not all democrats are liberals. But the liberals have no where else to go. Ronald Reagan changed the face of the democratic party. He was a dem. while he was gov. of calif. He left the dems. to get away from liberals. The republicans will do or say whatever it takes to meet their agenda. None of our politicians can be trusted anymore. Sen. Frist is from my home state. He is a physician. I don't think he's cut out to be a leader. He needs to try to find a cure for footinmouth disease.

One thing you must understand that Talibans did not fall from the sky they were created by CIA of USA and ISI of PAKISTAN to fight the Soviets.Sen Bill Frist wants them back because then USA can avoid unnecessary expense of Afghan war and then they can concentrate more on Iran and Pakistan.I think they are not very happy with Pres. MUSHARRAF of Pakistan, that is why he was hanging around here for 2 weeks after UN meeting. They also don"t like the idea that they have Atomic weapons. But this one is going to be a hard one if they decide to go after them.

While touring Afghanistan, Senator Frist made the observation that Afghan tribesman should be brought into the government or risk losing them to the Taliban," she said in a statement. "Giving the native tribes, often targeted by Taliban recruitment, a voice in the government will promote peace and prosperity in the region. Sen. Frist does not believe Taliban fighters — often foreign fighters who come to Afghanistan to further conflict — should be brought into the reconciliation process."

What? A Republican not marching in lock-step...
I am thinking the Talibans would be wise to listen to Mr. Frist...
If a "ground-war" is not militaristically winnable due to "guerilla" tactics (heavy US casualties), that leaves only an air assault...
And if you are this dense, that this needs to be explained to you, then maybe that's why you weren't consulted ahead of time...

The GOP have admired the Taliban's power from the beginning. They want to bring their style of government here to the USA. A religious government that is feared and never questioned.

He is just another repuglican vote swap. He feels it will get him votes. Maybe it was to take the Mark Foley investigation off of his back. It is hard telling, repuglicans move in mysterious ways.
