get the best of both worlds with the new macs. they run windows too. yipee!

and you can't beat the ilife suite of tools. only disadvantage to mac is their word processor. it's a little to basic - sort of like wordpad. i prefer word, exel and powerpoint which btw runs on mac machines too.

I could spend hours telling you why Mac is the way to go. You can read my previous answers to questions like this. All I can say is this, Macs can now run Windows just as good, or better in most cases, than any PC on the market. So, all your bases are covered with the Mac. You can even run Linux, if your heart desires. I've been a Mac user for two years now, and I'm in love. You have nothing to lose by switching, and I know you'll love it just like countless people before you. These ain't your daddy's Macs, these are a whole new breed of awesome.

I am biased so I'll say Mac. Ok, it all really depends on what you want the computer for. If you don't play games and are not a 'gamer' then a Mac is good, otherwise go PC. Mac's are good for just about anything else there is, good security, good OS, great graphics and if you are into graphic design or photo stuff, a Mac is the best, it is what most of the industry uses.

Boy, you're really asking for a fight here, aren't you?

I like Mac better because I am a graphic artist and Mac has always been better at that than PC.

But really, the lines betweeen the two are so blurred these days.

And my Mac hasn't crashed in litterally YEARS!

If I said it once, I've said it a thousand times, THERE IS NOT A MAJOR DIFFERANCE BETWEEN MAC AND PC!!!! People make a big deal about Mac vs PC but when you come right down to it the differance between them is only their components, mainly fermware vs BIOS. Now that Mac has changed to Intel chips they are almost exactly like a PC and the only real differance between them, other than the board operator, is the OS you use on it. I've seen programs that will make a PC run like a Mac and visa versa, and other than a handful of propriatory softwares any major software you can ever want is avalible on either platform.

It all depends on what you want a computer system to do for you.

Admitidly, PC beats Mac hands down for software diversity and especially games. However, if you are not a gamer and only want to use a computer for DTP and other office applications, then i would say use a Mac. Mac doesnt truely show its strength until you use it for image manipulation and video editing. these functions make a PC look like a ZX81.

Now should you decide to use a PC but are only using it for office applications, i would definatly recomend using Linux OS such as PClinuxOS! It has all the applications you could want for productivity and it is all FREE. With applications like KMoney (ms money equivilent) and Openoffice (MS office equilivent) and the GImp (image editor) and many more you could want for a work machine.

So, games, PC Multimedia Mac, You choose

By the way, Openoffice is also available on windows. just search for in in Yahoo! and stick one to Bill Gates

i'm honestly not trying to be one-sided, but Macintoshes are definitely a better choice.
If you've ever used a Macintosh and a PC, then you know that PC's are frequent to freeze and crash and have compatibility problems.
Macintoshes don't have that problem nearly as much as PC's. Plus, Macintoshes are pretty and the operating system is a hundred times better.
The only problem with Macs is their cost, but the reason that they are more expensive is because all of the parts (with the exception of the new Intel-based macs) are manufactured by one company, apple. This means that they're faster and less bugg-ish. Pretty soon, Macintoshes are going to be widely used, so you might as well invest in one.

Mac's used to be more ergo, thats become a thing of the past. PC's based on IBM arctecture is now the best simply because of the amount of software thats designed and available for them.

What I would consider would be going with a Linux or Unix system- that is, OPEN SOURCE instead of being kicked in the balls by Microsoft

It completely depends on what you're using the system for but at the moment if you're looking to buy, I'd suggest getting a Mac since you can run both Mac OS10 and Win XP
