I think the treatment of those prisoners is horrible, inhumane and Bush should be charged with war crimes.

I have been saying this for years ever since the Red Cross was denied access to prisoners and some prisoners still have not been charged.

Now with all that said, Bush is walking a borderline of guidelines set by the Hague Conventions which coordinate the International War Crimes Committees, ICC. Their main requirement is that a country violating the Geneva Convention must first try to work it out in their own courts.

That is what we are seeing now. Bush is not refusing but rather trying to do two things:
1. Keep the case tied up in the courts in order to avoid the ICC
2. He is still trying to get away with his end goal of their treatment by recently demanding a precise definition of torture under the Geneva Convention... stating it is too vague to follow.
3. He is trying to have new legislation created that will conform to the Supreme Court 'problem areas' with his POW policies.

The Hague Convention needs to step in and give Bush deadline or he is going to drag this out even longer... he has been dragging it out for 3 years now.

Where else would they lock these hardened terrorists away from their evil practices.
People who say Guatanamo Bay should be closed.
Do they have any ideas as to where these people should be held.
It is run by men who are trained to deal with this type of situation .
Rumours circulate about bad treatement metered out to the inmates but what about the fair treatment they receive, special food cooked for them, medical treatment which they probably would not recieve in their country, korans provided.
As time goes by memories fade we need to feep it fresh in our minds as to why we need places like Guatanamo Bay and the reason for locking these terrorists up in the first place.
A good day to all!

I could be wrong but I believe that Getmo was won when america was at war with Cuba.

It is ours, we hold our terrorists there. Seems fine to me. Remember that the inmates had goal of killing you (if you are American) before he/she was in there.

USA needs to give it back.

It is Cuba's land. And the USA is holding it illegally.

If the land was given back, it would be a step toward better relations!
