i would like to become an accountant. i have heard that a lot of accountants are introverted. i have also heard that they need good communication skills. which one is true? you should probably know that i'm introverted.

I think it depends on what type of accountant you want to be. Some accountants work with the public and some are locked up in a little room with the numbers. I think you should be whatever you are comfortable with.

Accountants need to be very detail oriented and careful. That's probably why we (yes, I am one) have a reputation for being introverted. But there are a lot of different jobs in accounting. If you want to be a CPA, you do need good communication skills because you will have to talk to clients and get information from them. If you want to work in industry, for a company, you still need to be able to write well, but you won't have to talk to as many people.

More important that your personality is whether or not you like and are good at accounting. Take an accounting class and see how you do and if you like it. If you like it and do well, you won't feel as introverted. And it's not easy stuff, half of all accounting students drop during the first semester. So if you like it and are good at it, it also pays pretty well.

you have wrong notion about them (us) for that matter, it depends on the personlity of a person.accoutant have good analytical skills and good communication skills if i may say.
