yes. there is evil in the world. evil has always been here. but there is goodness too. every time you see the bad headline remember every good act that went unreported. the system wants to keep us afraid and upset. but there is an option of dissent. you have permission to NOT be afraid. it is OKAY to be hopeful. it is OKAY to see the divine present in every good and beautiful act. you do not NEED an authority to mediate the truth for you.

the book of revelation refers to 1st century Christianities experience of the antichrist (the roman emporer) and the beast (the roman empire) it comes out of a common form of christian and judean literature known as apocalyptic literature. it is not prophecy in the sense of future-telling. it is a book of hopefullness written to reassure the community that there is a future in which God rules rather than rome.

Cruelty has been around since the beginning of time and always will be as long as humans inhabit the planet: ie. Cain and Able, the Vikings, the Huns, the Nazis, Pearl Harbor, Apartheid ... look them up. The list goes on and on. It isn't new and doesn't mean the end of anything. In many ways, the world is less violent than it used to be as we continue to learn and grow as humans, and will continue to be less violent once we all become more open-minded and more accepting of differences.

The more we talk about positives, the more positives will be out there.

In absolute terms crime, hatred and atrocity rise with the population of the world.

Relatively speaking, most people on Earth are better off than they were a hundred years ago.

Relatively speaking, fewer people die of diseases & starvation, there is no institutionalized slavery, and more citizens worldwide live under some form of self determination.

Not everyone is there yet, but the world is moving there gradually.

iI seems especially bad because the media concentrates on the 1% of the worst instead of the "boring" 99% of the mundane, go-about-your-business-in-peace world. Try taking a break from the bad news and concentrate on other things.

I am sorry if you still live in one of the bad places. I feel lucky to have been born in one of the lucky peaceful areas of the world.

Actually it will as long as we all accept what we believe to be truth. that matter is the ruler of the universe and that we have no place in its evolution. But we do. What you see today is what millions upon millions for century upon centuries have seen, rape, murder, war, children lined up and shot in the head, gangs trying to take their piece of the world out of the life of men/women, history of the world and mankind is violent and horrible. Only when we awaken to the knowledge that it is our magnification of the material hell here on earth that has and is contributing to the continued state of existent, that this cycle will keep repeating itself, but once we acknowledge this, we will break this cycle, its a matter of Thought, changing our reality through Thought.

I wish I knew what's the world coming to, maybe we are coming to a new era or evolution of humanity. But, if you read history books it seems all these things happened before, great plagues, world wars, murders, etc. We just have too much news agencies nowadays, its a good business you know.

Its pretty scary, I don't want to sound like an *** but you
gotta say your prayers everyday and if there is something like a school shooting, or whatever the case would be you just have to
be ready for GOD to take you. Its something I do not talking about and I know that I am not alone, but we must not ignore it
but talk about suitions that might occur with our family and friends
Kind of like a plan.

There is an answer and God gave it to us in His own words, the Bible. The last book in the Bible is Revelation. You can read it and know that you have a choice how you wish to live and where you wish to end up. and yes, I think it will get much worse, unfortunately. and satan does not win. amen.
