Umm, i know definately that Hell is really shitty- i went there once, but was kicked out for selling Ice water in Rainbow Pride glasses... so ignore the homophobic bigots who say Hell is a good place to go lol.
Chicago is ok, but in all honesty- Disney World is an awesome and fun place to go- i went there on National Gay Day last year and it was a blast!either try that or NYC. that place is awesome!
but if you're looking for more of a small town feel, DO NOT go to western Colorado- i live there and it's like being in a Gay version of the KKK....
try Maine or the East-Coast states.

I vote for Key West, FL. It's probably one of the most gay-friendly atmospheres in the US, and a really nice destination. I'd stay in a little bed and breakfast. They've got some good ones there.

Plus, Ernest Hemingway's house....which is actually a pretty cool place to visit.

I was 17 when I went there, so I didn't really get to check out the nightlife, but I've heard it's hoppin'!

San francisco or Vancouver BC
Davie village to be precise:
Considered by many of the area's gay residents to be the city's gay centre, Davie Village is located on Davie Street roughly between Burrard and Jervis Streets.

Located along in the village are a variety of shops, restaurants, services, and hotels catering to a variety of customers. There are also residences along Davie Street. Davie Village is also home to the offices of Xtra! West, a biweekly LGBT newspaper. The Centre (formerly the Gay and Lesbian Centre) is located just off Davie Street on Bute. The Centre provides a variety of services for the city's gay, lesbian, transgendered and bisexual residents. Davie Street is also home to one of the city's oldest gay bathhouses. The street's most notable business is undoubtedly Little Sister's Book and Art Emporium ("Little Sister's"), a gay and lesbian bookstore known nationally for its ongoing legal battles with Canada Customs.
I lived in vancouver for a while and it has lots of places for you to visit. And Besides Davie Village almost all the city is Gay friendly!!!

The best place, hands down, is Chicago (section appropriately named Boystown). It's a great place full of restaurants, bars, clubs. Charlie's, Hydrate, Sidetrack, Roscoe's are some of the more popular bar/clubs. Boystown is primarily N. Halstead st. and that's where all the "gay friendly" establishments are.

Come up here to NYC, or try Asheville, North Carolina if you want more of a small-town ambience.
