Most definitely YES. Every corporation needs accounting services and not to mention the small business owners and individual needs.
Because the rules and regulations are changing all the time, this is one of those field that is not easily out sourced to oversea workers.
Best wishes.

Being a CPA can pay very well. All of the accounting scandals (Enron, Arthur Anderson, and all the mess with stock options) means there is a huge demand for accountants, and not enough of them. So the money is great. But the hours are long and the work is very detailed. So the better question is "is being an accountant a good job for YOU to pursue?"
Do you like accounting? Have you ever taken a class in it? If not, take one and see if you like it. And if you can do it, it's hard stuff and a lot of people drop out. You also don't want to do something just for the money, because if you don't like it, you're going hate Mondays.
Good luck.

It is a fast growing profession that will always be needed. Make sure it is the right job for you. If you only do it for the money, you will be miserable. I know...I did it for 20 years and finally left the field because of burnout. Good luck whatever you decide!
