She is under the impression that grapefruit burns fat...when it really doesn't (just saw this thing on Yahoo diet myths...whatever that is).

You didn't think I had some other bad news, did you? No, just that.

Well if you think that it is going to hurt her feelings why don't you think of another was for her to loss weight maybe by courting calories and she will still be able to eat her grapefruit if she would like to and still be able to loss weight and feel alot better about her self. But don't just tell her that what she is doing isn't going to work because you feel that way because you will make her feel even worst about herself. Tell her that you heard that counting calories really does work on trying to diet. And asked her if she has ever though of it. Thank You

If you are set out to prove her wrong, back it up! Just tell her you are concerned, not to bust her out, but tell her what u found out, and it's not to hurt her but you are looking nout for her better interests. But it still doesn't hurt to keep grapefruit in the diet because it's good for you. So that's not any bad news, just misinformation, because I heard pleanty of people say that. But if you don't want to tell her just to see if she's losing weight, that can be a placebo for her. if she thinks that it's making her lose weight in her mind, it might work! I don't know... good luck with that though.

listen to me. You do this. Say in a sing-song voice: Honey, I have someTHING to SHOW you...and she waddles in, and you cut that dang grapefruit right in half. And you show it to her with much fanfare, and you DUMP one half in the trash! She'll be like, why did you throw that grapefruit in the trash? You yell at her: Because that's what you're doing to our marriage sweetie! You're cutting it half and dumping it. And you know what? It's a waste of time. Because NOTHING gets through that thick skull of yours. Then you toss the other half to her on a plate and go, have at it. It doesn't help you lose weight, you know.

You see what I did? She will totally not think that this is bad news compared to the other news you gave her! GENIUS!

"Dearest, I've researched if grapefruit burns fat. Unfortunatley, it doesn't, but I have a greater thing. Why don't you and I got on a little diet. We will run together, eat healthy food, and go to the gym together, how about it?"

There is no diet like that, that will ever work. It might for a few weeks she might see results but she will gain that weight back and probably gain some more. Tell her to stay away from those fad diet plans.

You say Honey I have something to tell you. Please sit down.

I love you very much and you are my life. And I know you are trying to diet so you will feel better about yourself.

But aren't you going to get really tired of that grapefruit juice?

No, don't break that news. If she was smart enough to marry you, then she is smart enough to realize it is just a media hype to catch attention. Besides, if she isn't fat, then she will not find out through experience.
