Hello, look at this sight first http://www.dave-gallagher.net/arcade/index.htm
It should inspire you to make your dream of an Arcade Machine......

Next look over this sight http://www.mame.net/ its the official MAME sight.

Next I suggest using mame plus/ mame 32 click this link and it will download. http://mameplus.emu-france.com/download/mameplus_bin_gcc-0.109-20060926.7z

You will need this program to open it and install it: http://superb-west.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/sevenzip/7z442.exe

I would also suggest a large drive allotted for this to be loaded on like around 100GB.

This is a link to down load a front end program so you can use many different emulators besides MAME and have easy access to them all and be able to select games with out to much effort. http://tomspeirs.com/gameex/

Now for sight for some Roms, Wait you have to read this first: http://mamedev.org/romsfaq.html if you understand that you can check out this sight http://www.efmovie.com/mame.htm Get all the BIOS files and Favorite games then just go thru the Roms below. Here are two other reliable sights for other Roms: http://www.romnation.net/srv/roms/mame.html and http://www.rom-world.com/ But many of games need CHD files and you will have to use http://www.emule-project.net/home/perl/general.cgi?l=1 for downloading them more information on them can be found at http://www.mameworld.net/easyemu/mameguide/mamechd.htm

For parts here are a few sight to consider: http://www.happcontrols.com/index.html?http://www.happcontrols.com/pushbuttons/5891xxl.htm!
http://www.ultimarc.com/
http://www.retroblast.com/reviews.html
http://arcadecontrols.com/arcade.htm

Here is a blog sight http://groups.msn.com/mame32qa/messageboard.msnw?pgmarket=en-us

You can find so much more information on the web, Helpful hint is to read, become well informed, and have fun......

Now for the money part your donation for my information can be sent to:

download MaMe, it is an arcade machine emulator which works incredibly well and will play hundreds of arcade games.

it can be download from:
http://www.mame.net/download.html

after downloading that, you will need to download 'roms' which are the actual game files which you then load in MaMe and away you go.

EDIT: you don't need to buy any hardware, unless you plan on putting the computer and monitor into a case to make it look and act like a real arcade machine, in which case it means the controls will be linked to the back of the pc to control it and the game.

if you just want to play arcade games on your pc then all you need is MaMe and the roms of the game you want to play, then you can use your keyboard to emulate the directions and buttons of the controller. in this event i'd recommend getting a controller or joystick for your pc though, for the full experience.

MaMe is a windows program, you simply go into the file menu and load the rom from the hard drive - this means you can have as many games as your hard drive can handle.

Its impossible to change that little tiny wee little chip on the motherboard into an arade machine without additional hardware. You need to buy stiff like WIndows lots of ram soem joysticks etc.

Arcade and Console emulators and game ROMs. ROMs are illegal though. Download at your own risk.
