and this--> C. The Fiancé Visa

The Fiancé Visa is perhaps the most viable option for most U.S. Citizen gentlemen. In general, for many gentlemen, it has proven to be less complicated, costly and time-consuming.

Upon approval in the U.S. by the Immigration Service of an I-129F Petition for Alien Fiancé and issuance by the U.S. Consulate in Rio de Janerio, this visa allows your Brazilian fiancé to enter and visit the U.S. one-time for up to ninety (90) days. During this time, the couple, if they choose to marry, must do so. Otherwise, the lady fiancé must return to Brazil.

It means if your girlfriend comes here on a fiance visa, you have to marry her within 3 months or else she will have to go home. I went that route and liked it. We had a civil ceremony here, then went back to Brazil and had a church wedding. After our honeymoon, she was able to come back with me. Friends who went the route of petitioning their wives had to wait for months for their wives to join them in the US. But don't think the process is as easy as is implied here, it took months to get the fiance visa, and months for her to get permission to leave the US while she waited for an adjustment of status (from fiance to wife) to be completed. Still I think it's the best option overall.

PS Jax is right, you won't need an attorney if you take the time to fill the paperwork out correctly as per INS instructions.

Why don't you look up at the official US INS web page?
Go under "Forms" and you will find every detail for every Visa. Do not trust some private web pages of some lawyers who just trying to get some money...
