sure it is because at least ,,you know you already have it and why chase after the others,,they might get away but at least you have what's in your hand. if you think of it..that can apply to alot of things even relationships......

Yeah, cause you've got the one in the hand. Good luck trying to catch the 2 in the bush. (Interpretation for males) You have a girl right there with you. Stop shaking the bushes trying to catch all the others you see.

I'm guessing it would depend on what kind of bird is in your hand, and what kind of bush the other two are in.
I think it's worth exploring all options...

Never had birds in the bush, but I've had one in my hand and it soiled in it....thats supposed to be good luck though
