installed new hard drive from hp today and now it makes a crackling noise...Is this normal?

Nope it must have touched something or you didnt screw it in all the way..... try to take it out and put it back in....

Why did you get a new hard drive from hp? Warranty? I hope so, otherwise you got ripped off.

if it's so loud go to hp and let them see it you said they installed it to u so no problem if u go to check it
