They need to be dealt with militarily. I was listening to a radio broadcast "Glenn Beck". This guy is pretty smart. He talked about bin laden 3 years before the attacks. 3rd most listened to show on the radio. Anyway he and many other experts believe that Iran really doesn't have nuclear weapons nor are they pursuing them.

The Iranians saw what happened in Iraq and are trying to lure the US into war by saying they are pursuing a nuclear program, trying to make it seem bad. If they succeed, they would take away all our credibility completely. Then again if they aren't bluffing....

It's a risky call, I like what we're doing as of now though.

Iran is a member of the NPT, nuclear proliferation treaty, which gives its members the right to research, investigate or develop nuclear energy as long as they comply with certain rules. Some of those rules involve allowing inspectors full access to all research labs, processing plants, etc...basically anywhere they want to go.

With this authority, Iran announced it would like to being enriching uranium for energy purposes in order to expand its economy. Following this announcement, the western countries basically freaked and has been trying everything possible to prevent this.

Now with that said, I do understand why the UN and USA would fear Iran with nuclear capability due to their ties with Syria that continually supplies Hezbollah arms and weaponry.

The world is very nervous about this to put it lightly.

So, the UN recently came up with a resolution to solve the issue that in part, had a section where Russia was offering to let Iran use their facilities to get the uranium byproduct necessary for nuclear energy. This way Iran did not actually have to be able to enrich uranium.

Iran so far as voided that resolution and submitted their own, of which the details have not fully been released. I do know that in part it says they refuse to stop seeking the ability to enrich uranium... but I don't know what else it says.

So that is where we are at now... talks are still in the process and the UN is considering sanctions against Iran if they do not compromise.

The leader of Iran (who did nothing for the people who elected him...as he promised...40% live in poverty) is a very frightening individual as no one seems to know what his motives are....I find it disturbing that his own people are not allowed to use computers (except the wealthy) but he has an international website going!!!! He did not start rattling his sabers until he was positive that the US was so bogged down militarily in Iraq that we could really do nothing. I say let the rest of the world do something for a change and stand up to Iran.

The United States doesnt simply interfere when the spirit moves them. There has to be some form of a catalyst to get the ball moving, otherwise we our needlessly endangering lives. If the Iranian government, or some form of a coup were to threaten the American people, and or one of our allies, we would be forced to make a stand. Beyond that, US interference is unnecessary.

yes absolutly however the type of involvment should be aiding the iranians to develope their nuclear power plants and in return they give all the waste to the U.N so that there can be no chance of enrichment at least that way we would know the signiture of their re actors and could trace if ever there was a detonation .
see we as a super power show our true strength be sharing our knowledge with the world insted of forcing them to fear us we would be much recieved if we gave them what we all know is a more effictent form of energy which I believe to be einstiens true intent and his unfinished works were to determin the use for the waste

Iran has stated the intention of removing us from the face of the earth. Our only choice is nuclear as our army is not available. We made a bad choice of going into Iraq where we cannot win. We are in trouble.
