that is a really high fever and its been going on for a long time. maybe its time to call her doctor again and let him/her know that the fever is still there. at the very least you may want to call the triage nurse at the hospital for advice.

Wow that's way too high. My child had a 103.4 temp and the Dr. wouldn't let him go home. He said it would be too dangerous and he may go into convulsions. They were about to give him an ice bath if the last thing they try wouldn't work. They gave him an experimental drug that was on the market at that time called pediaprophin and it did the job. That sounds scarry that they would let your child go home with that high of a fever. I mean that is really high. I would go to another emergency room to a town that is next to where you live, or even better a childrens hospital. I would get another opinion just to be on the safe side. Sometime it takes a while for infections to show and if you do a culture too early it could read negative.

No no no! You take that child back in somewhere else. I know kids can run higher temps than an adult and be okay but that's NOT normal. I wish I could remember the name of the illness.......my old neighbor's granddaughter had this very same thing and her mother was a nurse. The docs kept telling her it was okay and it WAS NOT! She caught something really bad from running a fever that high for a long time and they almost lost her. It wasen't from a condition that she had it was from running a fever so high for like 4 days. She's okay now but they have to keep checking her for something (I wish I could remember!) the rest of her life. It damaged one of her organs or something. Go into another doctor.

Go to the hospital. its been 2 days and a fever that high could hurt your babies development. She could go blind because of the high temperature so go to your doctor and tell him the baby is not getting better and the fever is getting frequent. If you have any reason to think that your doctor is not doing a good job then go to have a second opinion.
If you decided to wait as the doctor adviced you can sponge your baby with cool water, remember cool not cold, but avoid sponging the back or getting it wet. Its best to apply it on the areas that are hot like the armpit, genital area, the neck, the head, etc but never the back cause it my lead to pulmonary complications... this would help bring down the fever to a tolerable temperature.

I'd get a second opinion NOW. That is too high of a fever for a child. Go to the local emergency room. I'm serious. Do NOT play around with this. I've seen parents lose a child in a matter of hours because of a physicians poor advice. Please, get that baby to the ER.

Why haven't you taken your child to see a physician again? High fevers can be dangerous as I am sure the Dr. knows. With a temp that high 'most likely' wouldn't do for me, I would need some definite answers. You are responsible for the health and welfare of the child, do something more that you have done if this continues.

Well I I believe that Ibuprophen isn't really great for babies...(might make the stomach bleed). Don't give the baby tylonal or advil both make the stomach bleed...and I'd get a second opinion as soon as possible. Maybe go to a Trauma center instead of your usual hospital/pediatrics center.
Boston and NYC both have very good departments for trauma centers.

in my opinion I would demand a second opinion by the 3rd day. Could be a virus but who knows these days certainly not the doctor. They do say that fevers get higher in the evening. but try cool wash clothes, and try childrens motrin. I cant rememebr if ibprophen is the same as motrin but i always gave my kids that. or try a warm bath. just keep a close eye on the baby. good luck i hop ethe baby is safe and everything turns out okay.

While children usually have higher fever than adults, I would consider these options:
Take your child to the ER. Brain damage can result from a long untreated fever like that and 105 is HIGH.
You can also try and bring the fever down with a sponge bath.
Alternating between ibuprofen and tylenol can sometimes bring down a resisting fever.

Take the poor thing to th ER ASAP! If they thought it was a virus why didnt they give you anti biotics? That high of temps for any length of time can also cause damage to the childs brain and internal organs. Second opinion other than an ER will take too long to get.

i'm particular you're a mess. will you newborn eat a pop of pedialite? I hate to assert bypass again to the er yet sounds like the in elementary words determination. i believe that 104 fever isn't as risky to a newborn via the indisputable fact that's to an individual, even with the indisputable fact that it nevertheless isn't good. Is the toddler napping plenty attempting to wrestle the an infection. Wetting once in 7-10 hours isn't good in any respect. Take newborn again to Dr. Sorry. I wish you the finest of luck. wish the toddler feels extra perfect.
