Here's my suggestion, ( and by the way next time don't wait to crunch time) Get some index cards: 11 or 12 , the number of explorers you need to memorize-- On each separate card write the name, year, name of the country they explored and where they were from....Example : LUCILLE BALL, 1950,HOLLYWOOD SHE EXPLORED TELEVISION LAND.
After you finish the cards. Get yourself in a relaxed state of mind. Brain wave tests prove that memory ability is enhanced when the individual is relaxed rather than stressed out or worried. Just start going through the cards saying the information out loud slowly, and calmly...After you go through each one three times get away from it for an hour, take a break--- when you get back to it. Start over again saying the information out loud but this time singing it to a favorite jingle. It could be jingle bells just pick a tune and go through each card again a few times...When it comes test time relax !!! your brain will recall the memory if you are relaxed. you should do relatively well but next time start sooner rather than later. when your body starts pumping stress hormones you don't think as clearly as if you're relaxed and confident. Good luck.

A good way to study is read for 10-15 minutes then review for about two. That means you should be writing notes as you go so you have something to look over when you’re done. Oh yea, learn a little everyday and cram the night before. The combination of both almost always produces A's for me. DON"T forget to learn a little each day or your night before cram will be slow and most likely worthless. Cramming really does work if you already have a foundation to build from.

Flash Cards are excellent because repetition is the best method for remembering something. Plus they allow you to work for short period’s time, say in a car, on the bus, waiting for someone, etc.

See, if u try to cram it all up in your head, on friday, u are gonna mess it all up. I don't know what kind of studying strategy suits you but that's upto you. U need to try diff ways and c which one helps you most to memorize well. If cramming is good for you, then try it.
What I would recommend would be sitting down and reading thru them and trying to understand them. I mean, try to visualize them and imagine these explorers on their destinations. To remember the names, try to make a connection between their name and their appearance or the place they went exploring. It might be hard, but make up something funny, so that u remember it well!
If that doesn't work, try learning by writing. Sometimes that works!
Good luck! I hope u do well on Friday!

A good studying tool is make believe your giving the lesson instead of studying it..then there are action word association...where you take a word and envision it in motion..like when I think of home runs I think of Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron..because of the action of hitting the ball....actions they made..get the picture.
