i think anyone can breasfeed if they want to enough!! i think you will be able too, and if you have trouble there is help out there!!! Don't let anyoen tell you breastfeeding is easy either, you'll just get dicscouraged faster adn quit, Breastfeeding is VERY HARD, it takes a lot of time and energy and PATIENCE!! keep that in mind and keep at it!! you're doing the right thing by trying, everyone should at least try!! Just educate yourself as much as possible about it!! Good luck!!

It should not be a problem. Women with all different sizes of breasts and nipples breastfeed. BIG nipples are more likely to be difficult considering the comparison of the size of baby's mouth and mom's anatomy!

Try to get yourself to a La Leche League meeting prior to the birth so that you can learn more about breastfeeding and build up a support system. Read some good books such as "So THAT'S What They're For" by Tamaro and "The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding" by LLL. Check out the links below for good info as well.

i'm at the moment breastfeeding my 4 month previous. I had fairly desensitized nipples that were fairly small and we do precisely high quality. some thing that would want to advance your spirits my nipples are more suitable now and my son latches on large. you'd be taken aback after the first time your toddler effectively latches and has a good nursing consultation (about 5 minutes). once you destroy the latch and do away with your nipple out of your newborn's mouth it is going to likely be elongated and round. My husband and that i have been so bowled over we had to snigger that we had nervous about it in any respect. Breastfeeding Made effortless: Seven organic regulations for Nursing moms Nancy Mohrbacher, Kathleen A. Kendall-Tackett, Kathleen Kendal-Tackett i'd get this e book that's red and is amazingly useful!!!!!

It depends on the milk flow not the size of the nipples. Ask your mom or close family members if they have small nipples to and see if they had a problem. Honestly I think having small nipples wouldn't be the problem, just ask your family if they didn't have anything to worry about then either do you. If your really that concerned ask a doctor, you won't really know until you breast feed and I am glad you decided to it is so much more healtier. I did.

Sincerely yours,
Laurie

I dont think the size of your nipples should be a problem. When your baby feeds from you, he has to latch on with your areola (dark area around the nipple) or part of it as well as the nipple in his mouth. If he only sucks on your nipple, he wont feed properly and you will get sore nipples. Check out www.babycenter.com or www.babycenter.co.uk for more information.
Dont give up on breast feeding though, its much healthier for your baby. Even if you find it hard in the beginning, you'll get the hang of it soon. My baby is three weeks old and i had trouble in the beginning but once your baby learns to latch you will enjoy watching him feed. Good luck and congrats. :)

Yes! Don't worry about latch issues until you actually have them (which may or may not happen-- didn't happen with me). If you are concerned, talk to a board certified lactation consultant before your baby is born. Also keep the lactation consultant's phone number handy, along with a La Leche League Leader's phone number, just in case. If you are not pregnant yet, remember that your nipples will grow, and even if you are pregnant, they will probably get bigger! Not to worry!

Of course they can, just thank the lord you dont have massive nipples that your babies mouth couldnt fit in his or her mouth. haha breastfeeding is really good for the baby too. It will strengthen your bond and it develops the jaw better. a bottle is easier and the milk just comes out, but when the baby is breastfeeding they have to work for their milk. It lowers the chance of the child having asthma too. BREASTFEED DONT USE FORMULA!!

yes you can.the size of the nipple shouldn't matter much at all.as long as you have patience&are comfortable during your nursing time you'll be ok.dont be discouraged at first&give up,thats a bad choice.it will be even harder to get the baby to nurse by doing that.i have large nipples&thought it would be dangerous to the babies but it wasn't.i also had great support at the hospital&drs. join a breastfeeding group, you'll be amazed at the help they offer.if i can breastfeed twins for as long as i did,you can too.good luck.remember, this is best for the baby.

Don't worry about it. you will be able to breastfeed. If you need help just ask the nurses in the hospital and they can help you. Dont be afraid to ask for help. Your babies dr should have a nurse that can help too.
