Any participation as a leader or team member is very helpful with college applications. Schools now seem to be looking for diversity, so mix it up. Sing, dance, speak, hit a ball, write poetry. My daughter was accepted to all 9 universities she applied to and chose Yale.

Any record of leadership roles or of active membership in creative groups goes to strengthen your case for Admission in a University or College. Put it in proper perspective... Mention any event or achievement which had a significant contribution from you. Resolution of conflicts, creation of Synergy through innovative combination of the Groups, etc are some examples.

yes it really does help because colleges like people who are involved in school and will more than likely want to participate in events when they get into college.
