I wore my nice light leather shoes to a bar one night. The next day the shoes were covered in scuffs, stains from spilled drinks, etc. I tried to polish the shoes to see if that would get the stains out but it did not. How do I get my shoes to look new again?

Mink oil won't really get out stains...it's used to condition and shine up the leather. If you want to get it out, use scuff stain remover. It works really well, but you have to be very careful with it because it's quite strong. Spot test it on an area of the shoe that's not so obvious before you use it on the rest of the shoes, and use a Q-tip and a very small amount of the remover.

Leather is porous. Just like your skin.
The answer from mary r, is the only thing to do. Darker may still show the stains as a color difference.
