What is the best 5K racing shoe?

I have had shin splints in the past so I need some that will prevent it from recurring again.

I would have to say either nike shox or, most likely, new balance. NB are kings of running shoes so they would probably have something for ya.

This depends upon your weight, running style, what surface you are running on, etc. I prefer Saucony but they don't fit everyone the same way they fit me.
