Both Peter and Paula picked a plethera of pickled peppers for preserving. Pickling a peck is probably comparable to baleing barley and if Barney baled a bushel of barley it stands to reason, statistically speaking of course, a bushel of barley barely baled in the same time to beat and set on the back of a Buick's bumper probably produces the same pints that Peter and Paula picked of both of their pecks of pickled peppers and put into the pantry after processing.
