My mammogram is scheduled for 3:00. I can't go to work all day without deoderant on. Will it interfere with my results, or is it because they don't the residue left behind on their equipment?

Many deodorants and perfumes have an ingredient in them that can look like microcalcifications on your mammogram. Some types of microcalcifications are a sign of breast cancer. You would hate to be called back for more images (which are usually much more uncomfortable and add an additional cost/time/worry for you) because of a deodorant. If you simply cannot go all day without wearing deodorant, call the imaging facility and see if they will allow you to wash your armpits before your mammogram. We supply wipes to our patients for this purpose. This request has nothing to due with leaving residue on our equipment, as we must wipe down the machine with a solution after every patient, even if to the naked eye the machine looks clean.

i know there is a mineral in some deorderants i believe it is aluminum. that might be why. I'm not sure about perfume probably the same reason. can you wear the deoderant to work and then wash it of before you go in for the test?

you don't need a mammogram just go here

quote: "What's wrong with regular mammograms? Basically the doctor slam-dunks your melons into a can. And then BINGO this trash compacter of "modern science" squashes the breast just like an insensitive man."

quote: "And doctors (scientists) probably don't believe in God! And if they do, it's probably some abstract entity called "nature" or "mathematical truth". Now do you want these people touching your ****!? "

I was told that some leave a resedue on your skin that can show on the x-rays...to avoid any confusion on mistaking the resedue for any mass type.
