I did, and I was actually dying for real

I had fell asleep in a trailer in the Middle East in the morning and turned off the AC and then by 5 pm it was 200 or so degrees inside and I was still asleep and gasping for air,

very HOT air

I stumbled to the door and opened to what seemed cold 130 degrees, there was a mirror there at the door and I saw myself for the first time without prejudice, as I was just with underwear

besides swearing to join weightwatchers (lol) I realised for the first time I did not even know who I really was, or what I had become

from that point on I treasure each day and stopped going to church, and began welcoming all people and treating them well

some say that's all Jesus did and then people made him into something more thanks to the telephone game effect

in a way it was like seeing my dad and grandpa in an instant...I had become their image and yet they had passed on...

very thought provoking and I never forgot

A few times. It was was rather unsettling feeling. First, I feel paralyzed but relaxed, like I'd forgotten how to use my body parts. Then I felt seperate from myself. Like my consciousness was a few feet from my body even though my point of view had not changed. It wasn't not particularly bothersome or frightening, but confusing. It would take me a few minutes of trying to figure out what had happened, and even then, I was not scared. Usually after figuring out I had died, I'd wake up.

Three times I can remember offhand, one I drowned in a giant toilet, the second I was being torn apart by sharks, the third I died from fright from seeing someone having committed suicide by hanging in an elevator car before I was old enough to understand what suicide was.

The thing about the third one, is that in hindsight, I can only assume I died in my dream, although I have no actual knowledge of it... but the same unnerving feeling was used in other dreams associated with my death.

(Funny... most of my worst nightmares are about sharks, and the thought of them don't bother me one bit, but I have one about an elevator and it torments me for life).

yes I have, twice. My first reaction was, I thought you were supposed to die in your sleep in you die in your dreams. I didnt wake up immediately but it seemed like a long time before I did.
In the first I was pushed off of a cliff and impaled on jagged rocks below. In the second I was shot with a poison dart in the heart and died on a fire escape.

Yeah, one time I dreamed I was crossing the street and I got ran over by and ambulance. I could see my body lying on the street and I slowly started floating up. Then I woke up. It creeped me out a bit, until I realized just how ironic being hit by an ambulance was and I laughed it off.

In my dream, I was stabbed in the chest by someone I trusted and loved. He stood over me watching to see if I was really dead. I woke up because I had stopped breathing. When I fell asleep, I fell back into the same dream. He came back to check and make sure I was dead. Again I woke up because I wasn't breathing. I was scared and disturbed and had a hard time falling back to sleep.

Yes. I had a dream in which I was shot. I very slowly experienced the life draining out of me. It scared me to death, but I considered it a great sign that I woke up!

I guess I did once, when I was a kid. I was dreaming about being in a war, and I got shot. And I was wondering around like a ghost after that. I thought 'well, OK, that's strange' then I woke up.

Its one of those, I just realized im about to die, situations and then bam bam bam. 3 in the chest. I couldnt breathe and there was panic and I woke up still unable to breathe. Cold sweat.
