i don't think it's all the way parents raise there kids. I think its all about the self control and will power of the person doing it. Some parents can be too pushy, or just right, and their kids still go and have sex. Some parents don't say anything to their kids, and some kids do have sex, others don't. My parents gave me a lot of freedom and i could practically do anything i wanted, but even though i was at my bf's house alone, and things were getting pretty hot, i still said no. I'm really glad though that my bf respected that. But not every girl can be that lucky.

I find it rather disturbing to hear that 13 year olds and younger are having sex and possibly becoming pregnant. and I agree, no one that age is emotionaly or physicaly ready for it. To tell you the truth, I do not think most/the majority are...sex was intended to be done between a man and a wife. God said so and made it that way. It has been so since the beginning in Genisis. Sex is a way of saying you are part of me and I am part of you...and the culture around us is giving us a totaly different picture. Culture is saying that if you don't do it, then you are uncool or you don't love your boyfriend as much. Not true. You are givng your future spouse a big part of yourself when you save your sex until marriage. By holding back and saying no to sex till you are married, you don't have to worry about STD's or being emotionaly hurt or possibly being pregnant, or any other thing that might occur from such a action. You are pure sexually, and usualy mental as well, when you go to your spouse a virgin. And a decission such as that shows maturity.
No you are not stupid. I think that it is fue to the culture around us influencing young teens to have sex that makes things like that happen at such a young age, and it is (probably not saying it is) possible that through at too lax or too strict parent-teen relationship that things like that happen.
That is why I have spoken it over with my parents, and have promised God, myself, and my future husband, whomever he may be (only God knows) that I am to remain a virgin till the day I am to marry and the man that I shall do it with will only be my husband. Infact, to stop tempteation in its tracks, I have also promised myself and God that I will not kiss until my wedding day as well. My first kiss is with my husband. I know it will be hard, but I willask God for help to persiver through such times, and I am sur eit will seem like a fairytale when I am stand with my husband, and give him my first kiss. And we will live happily ever after...together forever.

Not every teen is doing this, after all, you havent and youre that age. But not everyone was brought up the same way you were. Living in different states and towns can be as different as being from another country or even another time. I grew up in a small town and people would never think to do that, but when I moved to a big city it happened everywhere. People and places are different and unique, so depending on where you live you learn different things.

your parents definitely did raise you right.....major kudos......the issue is less that young girls aren't old enough to handle that....it is more that they arent ready to handle the consequences that come with sex....like disease, pregnancy, or worse falling into the hands of a psycho.
hats off to you......appplause.
people say that we learn the best from mistakes....but they don't demand you learn them for yourself.....if you pay attention to the girls around you who are lacking in morals, self-esteem and obviously common sense, you can probably learn a lesson or two from the mistakes they make.....just remember....better to wait and get to be a "woman" later, than become a woman now and watch your future take dramatic turns in directions you would never wish for.
don't let anyone tell you youre stupid or that any thing is wrong with you.....you've got a great head on your shoulders.

I don't really understand it either... mostly peer pressure I'm sure. Many girls are made to feel like they have to have sex in order to keep the guy they're with or to become more popular, when in fact it usually turns out to be the opposite. At 17 I'm proud that I'm still a virgin, because so many girls are not lately and it's really sad.

There is a corrollation between degree of stupidity and age of parents are birth. I don't think children are born stupid because of very young mothers, but stupid girls get pregnant at a very young age and the born babies are more likely than not stupid because of the stupid gene passed on by the young parents.

I haven't had sex yet,and as a matter of fact I've not even been kissed and I'm 16.Yes,I do have a boyfriend but that does not mean we are going to rush into sex,I mean we haven't even kissed yet and we've been going out for a couple of months now,so don't just assume all teens are having sex!!!!!!

I agree. You are very right. 13 is way too young. :(
I lost the big V at 15 but married that guy at 19. That is unusual but guess who got preggers at 18? Yeah me. I wouldn't change my life because I love our daughter to death but I wish better for her than what I had.
It's always the best to wait. You are far from stupid, you are a great and honorable young woman for not giving in. YOU GO GIRL. :)

Sex is great. I started when I was 13, but I wish I started earlier, because any time you spend waiting to have sex you are just missing out.

Yea, i agree... some people that are having sex when theire under 18 and not married is completely crazy. No parents know how to raise their kids in the sex-ed part.... its horrible.. no wonder our world is so populated...
