Woody Allen is the first to come to my mind. I guess he's a "love it or hate it" director. I hate everything he ever directed. Also, he's creepy.

Speilberg is now - because he is starting to produce self-indulgent rubbish like War of the Worlds - compared with the original - it is absolute naughty word ! His earlier stuff like ET was really good but I think he's lost the plot now.

Also Ron Howard - he has produced some good stuff in the past, but that Devinci Code was also self-indulgent rubbish.

And finally Bryan Singer who directed Superman Returns - the most BORING Superman film either myself or my wife has seen.
It's a shame because he directed gems like the very succesful Usual Suspects and the sinister Apt Pupil.

Hope that helps - film is my passion !

Guy Ritchie..you could compare him to a 80's one hit wonder. One excillent film (lock stock and 2 smokeing barrels), one film that sucked but got popular because of its starcast (Snatch) and then his third film went straight to DVD (some crappy with Madonna in it) and now he is a nobody.
