I tried to sell my first ever item on Ebay yesterday. I have no idea how it works, But a buyer wrote to me asking to buy it before the auction ended & I have no problem with that however, They want to use Money Gram to send the money. The emailed me and told me to give them my name & full postal address. Then to send them the item number so they can send the money via money gram. How will this work? What is money gram? Can someone please shed some light? :(
Thanks

I've been selling on eBay for a few years and this sounds like a scam that I've heard of often. To begin with, until you have over 5 or 10 feedback you can't do a buy it now. I'm not sure what your feedback status is, but that's eBay's policy.

If your feedback is over the required amount then tell the buyer you'd be happy to do a buy it now at such and such price, and you accept paypal or money orders....no personal checks and unfortunately not a money gram either. This person may be completely legitimate, but a lot of people have been scammed this way. If this buyer is on the up and up and really wants the product, they'll do paypal or a money order. I hope this helps; best of luck with your selling.

Hi, not to scare you but you are probably being scammed! How much was this item for??
I have been selling and buying on ebay for a few years now and this is what the scammers do to people. If you want to tell me your ebay id, I can try and help you to see if this is legit. My ebay id is CustomCharms04.

I have emailed you back, you might have to check your junk mail folder but my email will have CustomCharms04 in the email address!

I'd be careful. Moneygrams are a big SCAM right now...well fake ones. I work for Walmart as a cashier and we have a lot of people coming through trying to use them . First off we don't except them and secondly they're fake.

This is probably what this person is doing. Your best bet is to do it safely through ebay. I believe there's an option where they can purchase it as "buy it now" . Set it up like that.

DO NOT FALL FOR THE SCAMS...
