OK

First They are not Pets.. and its illegal to capture one and keep it as a pet, in ALL 50 , US states.

HE WILL bite you if he gets a chance. He will also bite any other living things like children or pets..

]Its doubtful if he bit an adult you would die from it as long as you got trreatment however......

Here is a nice link to better explain what to expect from a typical rattler bite.

http://www.rattlesnakebite.org/rattlesnakepics.htm

This is a guy who was bitten and has the info online to share for anyone who thinks its not big deal.

I have seen rattlers, worked with them and by them, and have treated bites in the ER as well... They are wonderful creatures, they are not aggressive if left alone... But they are not ever pets,,not ever.
You can not train them, and they WILL bite you the first chance they get as you have created a situation where he is threatened.
You should also know most wild snakes can carry salmonella as well. Also please be aware that just the stress of capture and handling creates a build up of lactic acid in the snake and can kill him or her just from stress. They are alos ectothermic like all snakes and need to regulate body temp by external means.

Not sure if you are just asking or if you actually have a snake... but please let it go if you do....

I suggest you release it FAR from your home and be done with it.

First of all, you've got to be kidding! How do you expect this snake to eat or defend itself against fools like you?
Second, it is not illegal to keep rattlers in most states & I've kept them for over 20yrs along with northern copperheads.
Yes, you do have to be extremely careful while handling these herps & should never attempt to do so without an experienced handler to assist you.

Why not just make a bite proof outfit to wear when your playing with the snake! You know the midevil chainmail stuff they used for jousting. If that don't work get a corn snake!!!

get a boa or a python or something.... the last thing this hobby needs is another dumb a$S getting tagged.

They don't make muzzles for snakes ding-dong ! If you want a muzzle for your snake then you don't know how to handle it and shouldn't have it !!!!!!!!!!!!

WHEN you get bit post it so we can all have a good laugh .

Since no one else so far has played the straight man, I'll do it....(ahem)...

RATTLESNAKES ARE ILLEGAL TO KEEP AS PETS !

THEY CANNOT BE MUZZLED ! THEY CANNOT BE TAMED !

THEY DON'T BELONG IN A HOUSE OR ANYWHERE NEAR HUMANS EXCEPT BEHIND GLASS AT THE ZOO !

IF YOU HAVE ONE TAKE IT BACK TO WHERE YOU FOUND IT & LET IT GO !

****This has been a public service announcement.****

you can't because you're not supposed to have a rattlesnake in the first place
get someone who knows what they're doing to help you release it as soon as possible
