Not too difficult. Jack up the rear of the car. Remove both drums. If you don't have brake tools you can get by with a pair of pliers and a medium size Flathead screwdriver.Remove the upper and lower springs, and the adjuster, then use the pliers to remove the two springs that hold the shoes to the hub. one of the shoes will have the emergency brake bracket attached to it,usually with a small c-clip on the back side. Put everything back in the reverse order if you get stuck you can look at the other side to see how it all fits back together. You will have to screw the adjuster back together as far as it will go so the new shoes will fit. You should probably buy a Chilton's manual for your car if you plan on doing your own maintenance, they cost about 15 bucks at any parts store and are well worth it. Good Luck

I mean you no disrespect, but if you have to ask this question maybe changing your own brakes is not a good idea. I do most of my own automotive work and that includes brakes but I was shown how by a professional and have been doing it a long time. Aside from the driver, the brakes are probably the single most important safety item on your car.

If you still want to have a go at it, get a Chilton or Haynes service book for your particular car. Either of them will have directions on the process along with photos of the job being done and detailed line drawings if appropriate.

Good Luck on the job and above all else, be safe. If you get confused, lost, or something won't fit get help.

First you have to remove the drums, I think that are 2 screws that hold the drum to the hub, then you might have to hit the drum to break it loose off the hub, then you have access to the brake shoes

it's not that hard to do but.....just do one side at a time..that way you can look at the other side and see where all the parts go!
