Good question. I am not sure, because that can be a tricky thing to do. Well, probably more so for a guy, because women seem to be better at expressing their feelings. I struggle with that, so I may not be the best person to ask.

There are lots of ways. Do something nice. Help them out. Compliment them. Basically, you want to show them that you care about them. So, again, do something that you think would cheer your friend up. :)
Since they live far away, send them an email....call them...or even hand write a letter--THAT would really mean something.

It really depends on what kind of love you mean. Do you love them as a friend or do you want to be more than friends?? Since you didn't elaborate, I'll assume as a friend. If you are nervous about it just start out saying that you don't want to sound corny or lame but they are very important to you and you love them.

i'd send them letters by snail mail. emails don't give the human touch people need. snail mail is so much better in expressing emotions. \m/
