Sunflowers attract ladybugs that will eat those aphids. I had an aphid infestation on my roses last year that just decimated my roses. This year some volunteer sunflowers from my bird feeder grew up next to those same roses. I had beautiful roses this year because the sunflowers attracted ladybugs which ate the aphids.

REAL EASY! Buy a spray bottle, put about 4 table spoons of regular liquid dish soap in it and fill with water. Shake and you have a 'clean' all porpose bug killer. Wasps, aphids, box elder bugs, ants, whatever sprayed and soaked gets suffocated by the soap. That simple.

go to an old store and get some chewing tobacco that comes in a twist. Shred up the tobacco and put it in several layers of cheese cloth, add hot water, make a "tea." Let this tea get pretty strong. Filter the liquid to get any solids out of it, put it in a pump up sprayer and no bugs will get into your peppers. Also good for other flowers, rose bushes, etc.

If you happen to think you are wasting chewing tobacco, stand on a ladder, chew the tobacco, and spit on the peppers.

Ladybugs!!!

You can buy them in bags of 100 or so at your local nursery. They'll stay long enough to eat all of the aphids, then fly off to someone else's garden.
