i just took a class monday and is it possible that my instructor pressed too hard on my kidney area? because i have a bruise on mylower back. i thought the whole experience was pretty painful, but maybe thats because i have the flu..

It's possible that the instructor has pressed too hard. If you had the flu at the time I assume that you may have been taking pain meds for body aches, which in turn dulls the senses so to speak. My massage therapist won't touch me if I've taken any kind of pain reliever for fear of bruising. He always asks if the pressure is ok.

I'm a little confused as to what happened. Are you claiming to have a bruise on your back from a FOOT reflexology treatment? Can't happen. If your instructor was pressing your actual back, that's not reflexology, that's acupressure. Whole different thing.
The "flu" is probably a cleansing, which your teacher should have explained was a possible side effect.

I sometimes get a bruise after massage. I bruise easy, some areas they do press hard.

I only get my feet done but ive never had bruises.
