Although I do believe in God, I am not a religious person, nor do I go to church. I do not find fault with going or not going.
As for separation of church and state.... Every facet of this country is based on some religious opinions. It does not say that the two cannot coexist, it states that there shall be no sponsorship of any said religion. This was done due to, religions heavy influence in Europe at the time.

I think for myself. I follow the laws and don't harm others. I like to help people.

I don't do this because I am scared into it by religeon. I do this because I value this life and I am thankful for it.

No matter what anyone does, religeon will be in politics, it is the culture here. But they are only words, if you don't believe in them, you don't have to. Thats freedom of religeon.

When people try to throw a fit about displaying the ten commandments and all kinds of tax money is wasted on complaining that it is took down--they have taken money away from other worthwhile causes.

I talk to god all of the time. My children and I pray every night. I often find my self praying for alot of people all of the time. But I do not think that religion should ever have any thing to do with politics. if that where to come about we would not be any better off than alot of the Muslim country's that are guided by the Kuran. the only difference would be that we would get our doctrine from who knows? maybe not the king James version which is what i know. maybe sometime we would all start being Mormon or Jehovah's witness. The 7th day Adventist would start a wholly war with the Yiddish. do you see what i mean. its just to insane to even fathom.
Well said ave girl! I think it is stupid for people to make a stink out of somthing just to hear their own voices. if you dont like to see the ten commandments in a court house dont look at them they are not hurting you. your child dosent have to say "under god" in the pledge of alligance if he/she dosent want to. but dont take it to court, talk about frivolus. a few of our laws where based on the ten comandment but IMHO that dosent mean that those laws are guided by religion. a judge dosent sentence you to death row because god said he should. he sent you to death row because you murderd some one and a jury of your peers found you to be guilty.

I am catholic but I'm not fundamentalist. I believe that politics and religion are a bad combination.

I rather be open minded than follow the dogmatic, narrow views of the Religious Right.
