go to the doctor and have them do it for you
i know i did it once and he was quite happy to do it for me

some doctors think that its stupid to waste their time with that but never the less its the safest way possible and most doctors will do it happily for free

Use a few drops of warm olive oil to soften the wax - do this twice a day for three days. Then buy some eardrops from the chemist which contain hydrogen peroxide (Otex if you're in the UK is a good one) and use them twice a day for five days. Ear syringing is not recommended these days as it can lead to infection and/or perforation of the ear-drum which is very painful. If the above doesn't work, get your GP to refer to you an ENT surgeon.

Also, don't get water in your ears as it will get trapped behind the wax - put some cotton wool in loosely while you have a shower then wipe gently around the ears to clean them. NEVER stick anything in your ears - you'll only push the wax down further.

there are 2 safe ways and a Qtip is not one of them.
the best way is to purchase an over the counter earwax remover kit from your local drugstore and follow the directions.
or,
put warm soapy water in your ear and let set for 10 min to loosen the wax and then flush out with clean warm water using an eye dropper.

just put a few drops of olive oil in your ear and lie down. This loosens the wax so that it can work its way out safely. I diidn't believe this until one day I had ear wax stuck, I tried to get it out with the end of a grip and ended up almost deafening myself. My friend recommended this and it worked... thank god!

Warm up some olive oil in a small container. Pour about half a teaspoon into your ear and leave for half an hour. It softens the wax which then works its own way out.
