I made an appointment at the urging of another doctor who wants me to get my thyroid and blood count checked. (I'm 19.) What are some of the goodies I can expect?

I mean as far as tests, exams, etc. I couldn't care less about having blood taken; I've had that done countless times.

It will be pretty routine. Your weight, blood pressure,family history. Any risk factors in family may prompt certain testing. Usually a breast exam and pap (unless you have your GYN do it) Usually a CBC (complete blood count) to see if you are anemic, check your white cells to see how your immune system is functioning and blood sugar to check for diabetes. A urine test ,Thyroid and any issues you might be having. It usually last for about 45 minutes and then they send you for blood work. Again if their is any thing that concerns you about anything, there may be additional tests.Relax its a great way to prevent and or foresee any problems. Hope all goes well.
