Does anyone have any clue what the numbers 4 8 15 16 23 42 stand for?

One of the most asked questions of the show hands down..So far they don't mean a thing (collectively, anyway). HOWEVER they show up all over the island; on the hatch, on that map that Rousseau gave to Sayid, the code on the computer(if you add em up, they equal 108..smart isnt it). Hopefully we'll know what they mean by the end of the season, but knowing how the show has gone so far, there will probably be some other mystery. Can't wait for tonight!!!
