This it totally unfair!!!! The worst part is, they don't even realize it!!! Point it out to the teachers and tell them that you (and possibly other parents) think that other kids should get a chance. There is NO reason why these kids should be treated better than other kids. It is especailly unfair when those kids are the relitives of the staff and faculty at the school. All kids should be treated equally. No kid should be favored over other kids just because they are related to teachers.

It isn't fair to see favouritism happen, especially when you're dealing with kids who can surely see what is happening. But you also have to be careful not to create trouble for your kids as you don't know how people will react if you bring this up to the teachers. Maybe if you can find a small group of parents who feel the same way, you can all calmly go together and ask why other kids aren't being given a chance.

It takes a lot of monitoring and intervention from parents before their kids get better treatment in school. When I mean intervention, I mean in a positive way. Don't creat a ruckus in school or in front of your kids' teachers. Just establish a good rapport with your kids' teachers.
Perhaps, get your kids to pass a hand written note from you to their teachers once in a while. Ask about your kids' progress or thank the teachers for helping your kid to improve in their school work. Or, for instance, if you bake well, save a batch of extra cookies for their teachers. These are ways to get you and your kids noticed more by their teachers.
Going the extra mile doesn't just help to get your kids noticed by their teachers, it also helps you to indirectly monitor your kids' progress in school as well.
I don't encourage you to lodge a complaint against any teachers. Think carefully and honestly to yourself, would any teacher seriously be fired because of a mere act of favouritism? Favouritism is so widely practised that it's brushed off by the principal as a trivial matter. Besides, you'll never know what a teacher can resort to as 'an act of revenge'. Maybe your kid gets even more picked on in class after you've lodged a complaint against the teacher. Perhaps, the teacher will pick on your kid for disruptive behaviour even though he's just whispering to his friend? So, make calculated moves.

Maybe the same ones get the parts and the awards, because they are the best ones. You want to give the best the part and awards, not the worst. If your kid wants parts and awards, they should work harder and be the best.

i think it isn't right, but hey, i'm one of the favorites. Maybe i can help...
*try to joke with him/her before and after, NEVER douring class unless the teacher starts!
*Turn in ALL assighnments. Need help? you know where to find me! Or u can email me ur questions.
*No matter how tempting, DO NOT talk to your friends.
*read more or study douring your free time.
*Try to take notes, heck, i know they are boring, sometimes i skip out on them, too, but you and i should both work on taking more.
* when you have a teacher that talks s l o w, no matter what he/she says, if you are smiling and nodding, even if your mind is at the mall, the skating rink, or wherever you hang; he'll/she'll think u r listening.
*cut yourself some slack around substitutes. it's your time to relax.

just been to an assembly of ten and eleven year olds where approx. one third received awards for great achievements such as quietly getting on with it, afterwards my child was very disappointed and another child was crying as they have all quietly got on with it and worked hard. I have written to the school governors to say that this is not acceptable and that every child matters and they should all receive equal praise and reward as anything else smacks of favouritism.

The public school system is very flawed and is not the best choice by any means today. As long as your child is in there, he or she will not shine to his full capacity or be on the fast track to success.

Go to your principal and say you're being discriminated against, specially if you have the same grades/credentials than these other kids.
