They make these gorey murder/slasher movies with hott stars and it seems to glorify killing, kidnapping and all kinds of abuse...and it's so easy to buy guns and ammo. Maybe this could be a factor, you think?

There is big debate, as tv= lots of money.
They says there's no proof? Use your head!
"monkey see, monkey do"?
Tv violence desensitises people to violence, and gives them graphical instruction how to do it. It also develops a taste for it.
We all know its wrong........

properly, that's been shown even as a newborn is extra up on violence, they have a tendency to be violent. no it does not, i recently wrote a paper about it, i could go into great detail but i'll leave it at a few points 1) the baby boomers watched cowboys and indians and cops and robbers and turned out fine 2)if violence on tv causes violence in the streets, then why doesn't comedy on tv cause comedy in the streets 3)the tv is also filled with news programs, educational programs, and documentaries, people have all sorts of out lets that influence them, not just the gory ones

No- I think there are many things at play here- but I do not blame entertainment for it.

I think is a combination of drug/alcohol abuse, untreated mental illness, poor parenting and a general lack of moral fiber/general caring and acceptance of inappropriate behaviors that is the issue.

The fact that parents allow children too young to watch these style of programmes is more the issue.

I think people blame tv and movies because its convenient for them to do so and then they don't have to take on any of the blame. Suck it up people!! stop blaming the media for your stupidity

i think there are way too many tv babies out there, brought up on the box with no parenting to speak of, sure it deadens feelings, and gives ideas, mostly bad ones.
