get a set of TOYO tyres that is specifically for drifting because u need a special tyres for drift so that you can drift more easier. Better you go into drift course/class first before you start drifting, if not you will totally blow up your car and all things that around you. Normally people will use Nissan Silvia S15 as their drift car because this car is pretty light compare to other performance car. One thing to remember is, in order to drift, you need a FR car which is the rear tyre will push the car to drift. There is no need to drive fast then drift, it's only the matter on how you play with your accelaration paddle, gear changing and the power produce by your car to push the car for drift. Normally before start drifting, all drifters will smoked their tyre first in order for the tyre to make interaction and improve the grips with the road as when the tyres get hot, it will grip much harder and easy for drifters.

You will need an engine with enough power to make the the tires break loose. You will not need a tire that will grab the road.
