It is?! That's news to me! I thought it was an insult! It goes to show what some people actually strive to be. Sad.

You mean Gretchen Wilson?
I consider myself a redneck, too, even though I'm an educated bisexual woman who lives in NYC. I grew up in trailer parks, I speak with a drawl, I'm not impressed by "status" brands, I like country music and NASCAR. Jeff Foxworthy, the one who does all those "You might be a redneck" jokes, says it's all about "having a glorious lack of sophistication." That describes me sometimes, and my father's family most of the time! It's about being real, being proud even though people keep telling you you're supposed to feel ashamed, and liking who and what you like, not what you're told to like.
I order large coffees, not ventis. I am not impressed by restaurants that serve a little bit of food for a huge price. I still cut coupons. I won't die if I can't get the latest pair of foot-torturing designer heels. And if you name-drop, I'll laugh at you. That's a legacy from my redneck family, and I like it.
And I do keep my Christmas lights on, on my back porch all year long, and I really do know all the words to every Tanya Tucker song.
Plus Gretchen is smokin' hot in the video.
Hell yeah!
