I had my second baby a year ago today and I am wondering if it is normal to have this problem. I never used to have ovulation pain until now this is in the middle of the month and swaps sides month to month followed by a light brown discharge which I have until a few days after. Since having my babies I find that my period pains have got worse aswell is this also normal?

Thank you.

Hi, I actually called my doc about this yesterday! My daughter is 11 months old, I am 1/2 way through my cycle and felt kind of crampy and had a small amount of brown blood. She said it could merely be ovulation, but to wait to make sure that I get my next period as in could be inplantation bleeding which happens when you first get pregnant.

I did ask one of my friends if she ever gets that, and she said from time to time it happens to her. So I would not stress to much. Wait and make sure you get your period and see what happens during your next cycle. If it turns into an every month thing then I would get it checked just to be sure. But my doctor did not seemed concerned in the least about it.

Hope this helped a little, and I hope you are feeling better!!!

Brown blood means old blood, so it may be left over from your period.

Really nothing to worry about unless it's accompanied by severe pain.

I also had bad period pains after having a baby - even though everyone says they're supposed to stop after pregnancy. It's probably hormonal.

If you're at all worried though, a quick trip to the GP will reassure you.

Many women have an estrogen surge during ovulation, which causes spotting. Since you had another child last year, your hormones have changed, again. After I had my twins, my cycle changed again. It's not uncommon.

You should mention it to your ob/gyn at your next annual though.
