I think you mean tree grafting, where you cut a limb from 1 tree and put it on another?

I believe it's called tree grafting and it is were you take a young tree ind split its trunk you then take a part of a different mature tree and stick it in the split trunk. tape these together and over time they grow together. this makes it so the mature part grafted on will bloom and fruit unlike the adolecent tree.

When you want instructions on tree grafting I suggest you go to your local library, where you can find books on grafting which give step by step instructions of various methods with pictures.
