I think it depends on what kind of 12-year old your cousin IS.
Back in the 50s or 60s a 12-year old was really still a big kid, where-as now they seem to grow up much faster.
I guess your cousin is having friends over as well as family?
It would be nice if you got to know something about what her friends are like......and THEN decide what you're going to do. (don't want to make your cousin feel embaressed towards her friends, know what i mean?)
Mind you, I think your idea is GREAT, original too........and if your cousin is heavily fan of a celeb, or into more celebs, she might love it. (but again : depending on what kind of 12-year old she is, and her friends are)

Well that's cool it's awesome...good idea! not everybody does that so it's different and not so childish...I think it works if your sister likes cinemas movies stars nad red carpets-she'd feel like a star!!!lol...and it depends on the guests and the family to make it more and more special...Have a good time and happy birthday to your sister!!!

For 12 year old girls, I think it sounds fun and exciting. Young girls love to have an excuse to play dress up and act the part of a SUPER STAR!
