Yes you do need to feed them live food every day ! They need the protien and cal. to grow !!!!! As for fruit and vegies - cactus, green leaf lettuce, romain lett., carrot peelings -make shure their small !,turnip tops -just the leaf part ! , squash, for fruit you'll want it to be soft fruit so that they can chew it easy like - cantalope, honey dew mellon. Don't give them tamatoes it's to acidy and could make them real sick !
Make sure you give them water from (misting them) every day too ! And have a good heat light for them.
They have to have meat each day or they will get sick and could die. Meat is their main food ! Fruit and vegies are their second food, they help give your beardies water for their diet.
If you have not had them long then yes they will try to run but you can hold them too ! You want to handle them so that they will get used to you and will stay calm as you hold them when. When they are real little you can hold the base of there tail in your fingers as you hold them in the palm of your hand and this will keep them from running away. But do be easy too ! Don't hold to tight or it could hurt them, just tight enough to keep him /her from slipping away. You can also just curle you hand around their middle -( from their neck to the base of their tail ) that will help keep them calm too.
I hope I have helped you.
OH, by the way don't give them Ice Burge -not sure I spelled that right - The lettuce we eat in our salads all the time. It has NO nutritional valu to them !!!

That depends on the beardie mine likes to eat lots of sweeter fruits so try and experiment alittle while keeping in mind the health aspects of each ingredient like bananas for potassium but i also recommend getting a pre-made beardie pellets and feeding the crickets allot of healthy fruits and vegetables to gut load them but you have to remember to take out the old stuff because beetles use that to lay their eggs in and before you know it larva will take over the cricket cage and most importantly remember to cut them up into little tiny pieces (p.s. as the beardie gets older the size of the tank has an impact on how big it will get Sweetie my beardie is about the size if a dinner plate maybe bigger and she fits nicely into a 40 gallon breeder tank)(p.s.s. Firefly's will kill them because to a beardie firefly's are little flying steroid pills and can cause massive heart failure)

Young dragons are very active and might try to jump and escape. I suggest you do handle them everyday for about 10 minutes but keep your hands in the cage. As they get older they become calmer. My dragon is 5 years old and it has become much easier to handle him over the years. He is now an absolute sweetheart.
Yes the young ones need crickets sprinkled with calcium every day.
Here are some ideas for veggies.
collard greens, dandelion, endive, chicory , kale ,
The link below will show you pics of what these veggies look like

They like lettuce and carrots. I had 2 that liked to be held, but you have to watch them around other larger animals.
