I went off the pill in April and have been trying to get pregnant since then. My periods are slightly irregular so I have been using an ovulation kit. According to the kit I ovulated on Sept 18 or 19th approx. I am still waiting to start my period though. I have the symptoms I normally do such as abd cramping & lower back pain. My breasts are slightly tender also, but no period! Could I be pregnant & when should I take a test?

If you ovulated on 9/18 or 9/19 the embryo would have embedded itself(if there was one) between 9/24 and 9/30. It is way too early for pregnancy symptons because what causes the mood swings, headaches, sore breasts, morning sickness...etc is the hcg hormone that your body produces when your pregnant. Your body does not start making this hormone until 2 days after the embryo has fully embedded. You may be pregnant but I think you're jumping the gun a little. I would wait until the day after your missed period and then take a test. If it shows up negative wait another week to test again or get a blood test done.

Most likely you could be, b/c the same thing happened to me when I was trying to get pregnant. I used and ovulation kit and after that I think I got pregnant a wk or 2 later. So you might want to take a test or just wait another week or so.

Infertility can be caused by a huge number of factors: hormone imbalance, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Endometriosis, Anovulatory Cycles, physical blockage, inadequate hormone production, short luteal phase, lack of lutenizing hormone, high levels or prolactin, and many others. Poor nutrition often plays a major role, as does exposure to toxins. Age plays less of a role before menopause than was originally thought. While there are many wonderful naturally minded fertility specialists out there, in many cases it is not possible for them to test for and address any of these possible underlying issues.

A test would be pretty accurate now--go buy a 2pk of 2 different brands of HPT's and test away! Symptoms of early pregnancy for me were as you describe above, just as if I was getting my period any day.
