Paint them. You'll be less likely to chew them is you polish them so they look too nice to bite.

This is how I stopped:
Get acrylic or solar nails put on, and then you're forced to not chew them. They will make your nails brittle, but if you keep them on for like a month or more, then you'll break the habit, and when you get them off you'll have lost the need to bite. You can also douse your fingertips in nail polish remover, which tastes incredibly nasty, and it lingers.

Wear gloves or put something bad-tasting on them. There are some special kinds of nail polish made to help you stop biting your nails

i bit my nails my entire life, then when i turned 22 i completely stopped. its been over a year! it was so hard, like kicking a bad addiction.

heres what i did, it sounds really simple:

first, clean your nails with soap and water. with a nail file, gently push back your cuticles a little bit. file or clip off any really rough spots. then paint your nails with a coat of clear nailpolish, something like "Hard as Nails". then, if you'd like, put another coat of a colored polish on.

these two coats saved my nails. when they're painted, you're less likely to bite them. and if you do catch yourself starting to bite, remind yourself that you're quitting and that you want your nailpolish to look nice.

you'll be shocked how quickly they will grow. within a week they'll be longer than you remember....

good luck!

Chew gum or something else. And put on some smelly nail polish...I think that can work.

Try to find other ways to help your nerves. You could chew gum instead, that aids heartburn. Also, dig your nails into a stress relief ball, or just squeeze 'em.

get a bunch of food/liquid food that you hate then dip your nails in there so that way it would taste like that if you try to bite them. you can also put band-aids around each nail. it may look weird, but it looks weird

I used to bite mine. Try keeping them polished. You won't want to spoil how they look. They also make a bitter polish that tastes horrible.
Having fake nails also work. If you pay that much for them you really won't want to mess them up.
Good luck.
