Everyones cycles are different. Average cycles are every 28 days so you would ovulate on day 14. For me, I ovulate on either the 11th, 13th or 14th day. It's different every month. I have tried the ovulation kits and they work great (walmart brand is the best and the cheapest). Also, you can tell from how wet you are down there. Chart it out from dry to mild wetness to very wet and then all the sudden it will get dry pretty quick. The very wet day will probably be the actual day. How often are your cycles?? Mine are usually 27 days (I start my period on the 28th day so that would be a 27 day cycle) so then I usually ovulate on the 13th. You can also tell when you will get your next period by counting day one from the day you ovulate and 13 days later. So if I ovulated on Oct. 3rd then Oct. 16th would be the day I get my period. Then I can always tell what day I ovulated that month and you can estimate the ovulation day my charting. You period will always be 14 days after you ovulate, but you never know how many days it is when ovulate from your first day of your period. Good luck!!

The only way for you to know if you are ovulating is to take your basal body temp each morn, same time and before you get up. You should see a pattern in temps that leads up to and after ovulation. You can get the basal thermometer at Wal-Mart for about 8 dollars. I use a wonderful FREE website called Fertilityfriend.com...it graphs your temps for you, keeps track of your fertility signs, tells you when you ovulate and also tells you if there is an implantation dip in your temps. You can also use Ovulation prediction kits, but they only measure your LH surge and give you a ball park time for ovulation...they do not pin point it. Oh, and it is possible to be ovulating while you do not have your period, just like it is possible to have a period and not ovulate.

You can go to http://www.babyzone.com and uses their calendar to track your period and approximate ovulation dates as well as the best times to attempt to concieve. A friend of mine used this to help her prepare to get pregnant and she is now 8 months pregnant with her first child.
Now tracking your ovulation is not a good form of birth control. Some girls think so but it is not the most acurate. Ovulation charts are most always apporximate and no two women are alike.

See for me. It all depends on ur cycle.. meaning the days in btw ur periods. I had a 28 day cycle.. and i ovolated btw the 10th and 14th day of my cycle. How i figured that out was when i found out i was pregnant and compared it to all my due dates the average day was btwn the days i meantioned. And believe me I have 3 kids and I was right on the nose... so ask ur dr and keep track of ur days and if u have a related cycle to me try the 10th to the 14th day of ur cycle..

Most woman ovulate 14 days after the first day of your period.
It varies for all women. You should really watch your cervical
mucous. It's the best indicator.

Don't always believe that one --14 days...Cause everyone's cycle is not 28 days.
Go to http://www.mymonthlycycles.com and put in your period info and it will calculate when you will be fertile and ovulating.
This site is free to use and is very helpful.
Good luck

12 days after the start of the period is accepted normal. But taking your temp each morning will give you your own exact date.
