I work in a food store that is taking approx £120,000 once you minus the non-profit making extras. My salary is £22,500. Can you tell me if this is about right, too high, or too low? I'd be interested to see how it compares with others. many thanks in advance.

Sale positions are never paid that well but I'd say your earnings are pretty fair !!

Typically profit margins are poor in the food industry. Salaries tend to be lower....but work is steady - no one stops grocery shopping.

Considering the retail industry is notorious for low wages I think you are on a very good rate especially when you consider the type of awful money nurses, firemen & ambulance people earn in jobs that save lives.

It sounds very reasonable to me - the store's profit does not have anything to do with your salary.
