Yep the sound quality is stunning, very good.

Pure is a good make, I have got one.

But please be aware of one thing. You can get just as good quality sound from your TV digibox, if you connect it to a hifi system. The DAB sound quality is just the same as the radio stations you can access through a freeview digibox, although some of the stations may be different.

i have not in any respect lived everywhere with good DAB reception, inspite of having an truly beautiful radio. I presently stay in Cambridge. i'm close to the airport and there is a lot of odd sciency places. The radio reception on both FM and digital seems really undesirable right here, so I pay interest to the radio by my television and on line.

Don't know about Essex but DAB is far superior than analogue. Got a Panasonic radio and it's the dogs. Believe me, anyone you get you won't regret!!!

The guys at work had one of those pure dab radio's, I think it is far more reliable than digi box tele and the sound was fab.

yes go for it.
I work on the principle of if you get channel 5 then you can get freeview and dab radio.

Pure and Roberts are probably the best makes.

DAB should be fine in Essex.

Crap sound quality, and they admit it.
They just haven't got the bandwidth needed for high bitrate broadcasts yet. Fine for background listening, pointless for HIFI.
Analogue FM is superior technically anyway.
